Nepal 2018

Our second international trip was to Kathmandu, Nepal in April of 2018. We assembled an incredible group of U.S. coaches and teamed up with Maya Shyangtan, a member of the Nepal Women’s National Basketball team, to offer free youth skills clinics.

With limited indoor gym space in Kathmandu, Golden Gate International College offered us their outdoor basketball court to run two clinics a day for an entire week, giving more than 70 boys and girls the opportunity to train with our team of coaches. Local Nepalese coaches, along with University and National team players, also volunteered their time to help at the clinics.

Rain or shine, players came to work! With only two hoops for as many as 70 players, our coaching staff ran creative and dynamic drills to ensure that every player got plenty of reps and left the clinic feeling both tired and improved.

We are forever grateful for the work ethic, intensity, and amazing attitudes that the youth of Kathmandu brought to our clinics each day! It was truly a transformative experience for both the players and our Pinnacle Hoops International coaches.
