Pinnacle Hoops International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the sport of basketball to youth and women around the world. To that end, we offer free basketball clinics and camps in communities that may lack the infrastructure or equipment for players to compete at a high level. Often, these communities also lack societal acceptance of female participation in sports.
By connecting coaches who are passionate about the game with youth and women of other cultures through basketball, we empower these young people to recognize their worth and realize their true potential.
As a nonprofit organization, we rely entirely on donations and annual fundraising events like our March Madness 3-on-3 Tournament. We also offer an annual youth benefit clinic in the Seattle area that highlights the next country where we will be hosting clinics and camps. In partnership with Coach Bill Johnson, Pinnacle Hoops International coaches travelled to the small village of Ritoma for the second time to help direct the first-ever Tibetan All-Star Camp.
In fall of 2018, Pinnacle Hoops International coaches traveled to the beautiful country of Vietnam. On our 10-day trip, we visited three different cities and worked with nearly 300 youth players!
We recently returned from our second international trip to Kathmandu, Nepal in April of 2018. With the help of Maya Shyangtan, a member of the Nepal Women’s National Basketball team, our volunteer coaching staff directed an entire week of clinics that allowed 70+ youth players the opportunity to learn new basketball skills and improve their game.
Our first Pinnacle Hoops International trip was to Tibet in October of 2017. When we discovered a women’s team in the remote village of Ritoma was in need of uniforms, equipment, and training, we knew we had to help!
